WASHINGTON, May 3 (Xinhua) -- The NBA announced on Wednesday that Phoenix Suns guard Raja Bell has been suspended for one game without pay for throwing Kobe Bryant to the floor in a playoff game on Tuesday.

Bell will miss Game 6 of the opening round Western Conference series, which the Lakers lead 3-2. The Suns avoided elimination in Tuesday's 114-97 win at US Airways Center in Phoenix.

The two players had already been called for a double-technical in the second quarter of Games 5 before Bell horse-collared Bryantas he was driving past him with 7:33 left in the game.

Bell was immediately assessed a flagrant two foul and tossed, prompting the league to issue a statement suspending him for "excessive and unnecessary conduct." Enditem
