BEIJING, May 3 -- Chinese star cueists Ding Junhui and Marco Fu have made notable progress on the WPBSA rankings over the past season.

Ding's first UK Championship crown has pushed the teenager into the top 30.

The 19-year-old, who also reached the semi-finals of the 2006 China Open, jumped 35 places to number 27.

Marco Fu of Hong Kong, who set a splendid record by reaching the last four of the World Snooker Championship, moved up three places to number 22.

Meanwhile, Scotland's Stephen Hendry returned to the top place after an eight-year absence.

Ken Doherty climbed 11 places into second position after winning the Malta Cup, while Ronnie O'Sullivan's world semi-final exit means he slips from first to third position.
