PARIS, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Daniele Bracciali of Italy won his first ATP
tour title, beating Chilean top seed Nicolas Massu 6-1, 6-4 in the final of the
Casablanca Open on Sunday.
"This win gives me a lot of confidence for the future," said the seventh
seeded Italian, "It's great to win a tournament like Casablanca, this doesn't
happen to me every day."
"I was serving very well and this helped me a lot. I expected a tough match
and I'm happy that I got through and won my first title."
The 28-year-old Bracciali, ranked 68th, beat three seeded players for the
clay-court title.
He scored his quarterfinal win over No. 2 Luis Horna of Peru, and beat No.
8 Gilles Simon in the semifinal when the Frenchman retired with leg pain.
For Massu, who was facing Bracciali for the first time, it was his second
loss in a tournament final this season.
"My opponent was just better than me," said 37th-ranked Massu, who also lost
in the final at Vina del Mar, Chile. "I wasn't in great shape. Bracciali was
serving very well and he didn't give me the chance to come back." Enditem
