US commits over 160 cases of espionage in April: DPRK

กก PYONGYANG, April 29 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday condemned the United States for committing more than 160 cases of aerial espionage against it in April by mobilizing different types of reconnaissance planes.

    The DPRK denounced the United States for using U-2s to make daily shuttle flights over the DPRK's strategic targets through April, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted a military source as saying.

    "Their RC-135 and EP-3 and other types of tactical reconnaissance planes also committed many espionage activities against the DPRK in April, " said the KCNA.

    The United States also conducted a lot of special espionage activities against the DPRK during the 18th inter-Korean ministerial talks from April 21 to April 24, said the KCNA, adding that such actions "made the situation more tense".

    PYONGYANG, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Kim Yong-chun, the chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA), warned on Monday that Pyongyang would deliver the toughest response to any provocation by the United States.

    Kim made the declaration in a report made at the ceremony of the 74th anniversary of the KPA, according to the official Korean Central News Agency.

DPRK vows to boost military deterrent to counter U.S. "hostile policy"

    PYONGYANG, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Kim Yong-nam, the top legislator of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), vowed on Friday to strengthen the country's military deterrent force to cope with the U.S. "hostile policy."

    Kim said the United States was aiming to bring the DPRK down at any cost and by any means, including military attacks and economic blockades, so the DPRK had the right to strengthen its military deterrent force as much as it considered necessary.
