BEIJING, April 29, (Xinhuanet) -- With 5.7 seconds
remaining, NBA superstar LeBron James squeezed past Antonio Daniels and hit a
tough banker, thus setting another milestone for his growing legend: he made his
first game-winning shot in the playoffs Friday night.
In the Cavaliers' hard-fought 97-96 triumph over the
Washington Wizards in Game 3, the superstar also racked up record-setting
41 points - including 14 clutch points in the fourth quarter, giving Cleveland a
2-1 edge in the series.
It is clear James had the final say over Wizards'
all-star player Gilbert Arenas in their thrilling one-on-one duel. The latter,
whose three-point play gave Washington a one-point advantage before James'
runner, missed an open 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have won the game.
Arenas finished with 32 points and Caron Butler added
20 and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who have now lost home-court advantage after
seizing it with their Game Two win.
Former Wizards guard Larry Hughess provided 16 points
for the Cavaliers, of which eight were scored in the final period. Zydrunas
Ilgauskas had 15 points and eight rebounds before fouling out with 4:57 to play.
