ISLAMABAD, April 28 (Xinhua) -- A German cyclist was found dead in Pakistan's northern district of Kohistan, local police said on Friday.

"The body of Stefen Broderius, 39, and his damaged bicycle were discovered Thursday in a ravine in the Pattan area, about 300 kilometers north of Abbottabat city in North-Western Frontier Province (NWFP)," said regional police chief Attaullah Wazir.

Wazir said Broderius was a German national and resident of Olderburg in western Germany, who was visiting Pakistan on a tourist visa.

He added that his death was apparently an accident in which he fell in a 40-foot-deep ravine.

The ravine in the Pattan area is said to be well known for its dangerous steep turns and land slides. Enditem
