BREMEN, April 28 (Xinhua) -- A Japanese woman player was suspected of racket doping and deprived of the score in fighting Hungary in a table tennis world championships quarterfinal Friday as Japan beat Hungary 3-1 at last.

A new ingredient was found in Japanese first singles Haruna Fukuoka's racket glue after she won 3-2 over Hungary's Georgina Pota, though it was okayed by the referees before playing, an organizing committee official told Xinhua.

Japan was consequently deprived the score of a point, making the total score from 3-0 to 2-1 over Hungary.

The competitions were allowed to continue, because a result must be produced, the official said.

Japan outshone Hungary in the end 3-1.

"The result is effective after further study of the racket by the organizing committee, because it is not serious enough to overturn the result," she said.

She added if doping was confirmed, the result would be reversed. Enditem
