    BREMEN, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Austria made it to the women's quarterfinals at the World Team Table Tennis Championships with a 3-1 victory over host Germany on Thursday.

    Belarus, Hungary and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea also advanced to the top eight through qualification rounds.

    Belarus drove the Czech Republic out of competition three to nil.

    The DPRK secured qualification after defeating Singapore 3-2 over two hours, while Hungary won over Croatia in five games.

    China, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong of China entered the quarterfinals as each of them finished first in their groups.

    Semi-finals will take place Friday, when China plays against the DPRK, South Korea against Belarus, Japan against Hungary and Hong Kong against Austria. Enditem
