NAIROBI, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived here on Thursday for a state visit aimed at improving relations between China and Kenya.
Hu is to meet with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and other Kenyan leaders to tap potentials for further friendly cooperation between the two nations. The two countries will sign a number of cooperation documents during Hu's visit.
Sino-Kenyan relations have been developing steadily since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations 43 years ago, which are characterized by exchanges of high-level visits, rapid growth of economic and trade cooperation, and effective collaboration in other fields.
In 2005, bilateral trade reached 470 million U.S. dollars , up by 29 percent as compared with the previous year.
Hu will end his five-nation trip on Friday. Before flying here, he had visited the United States, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Nigeria. Enditem |
