WASHINGTON, April 26 (Xinhua) -- NFL icon and Green Bay's eight-time Pro-Bowl quarterback Brett Favre will return for the 2006 NFL season, the team said Wednesday from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The NFL's only three-time Most Valuable Player informed the team of his long awaited comeback on Tuesday night.

Favre will be entering his 15th season as the team's starting quarterback, with a chance to add to his consecutive regular-season starts streak of 221, a record for NFL quarterbacks. Enditem
