Earthquake hits Indonesia's Sumatra

    HONG KONG, April 26 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Indonesia's Sumatra at 2:31 a.m. Hong Kong time on Wednesday (1831 GMT, Tuesday).

    According to the Hong Kong Observatory Wednesday, the epicenter was initially determined to be 2.1 north latitude and 97.0 east longitude, over the seas west of Sumatra, about 420 kilometers south-southeast of Banda Aceh. Enditem
