CAIRO, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Al-Qaida's leader in Iraq Abu Musabal-Zarqawi
appeared in a video on an Islamic website on Tuesday.
The Jordanian born militant said in the video that mujahideen were fighting
on despite a three-year "crusader" war.
Zarqawi was shown wearing black and a green vest with an assault rifle by
his side in the video.
It was the first video of Zarqawi, who was the most wanted man in Iraq in
the past three years.
He only aired his messages through audio recordings in the past. The
authenticity of the video, which was dated April 21, cannot be immediately
verified.
With a 25 million U.S. dollars bounty on his head, Zarqawi was blamed for
many terrorist attacks, kidnappings and killing of hostages in Iraq's
insurgency. Enditem |
