BEIJING, April 26 -- Jiangsu Nangang's young center Tang Zhengdong will leave China to head for the United States for a week-long trial in the NBA.

During his stay in the US, the 2.13-meter-tall player will attend special training sessions held by the Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors respectively.

Tang, who turns 22 this year, has automatically entered into the NBA draft in June.

The CBA MVP in the 2003-2004 season withdrew from last year's draft as he did not meet that criteria.
