WASHINGTON, April 25 (Xinhua) -- US President George W. Bush called Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday, offering his condolences for the victims in the triple bombing attacks in the Red Sea resort of Dahab, and pledged American support "in any way that is needed."
"The president extended our condolences on behalf of the American people for the loss of life," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said, noting "We remain engaged in a global war on terrorism."
"The United States stands strongly with the Egyptian people as we wage this war and prevail in this war on terrorism. We will continue to take the fight to the enemy abroad," he said.
Three powerful explosions reportedly rocked the Red Sea resort of Dahab in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on Monday, killing at least 23 people and wounded dozens of others. The wounded include four American citizens. Enditem |
