MOSCOW, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia's President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday strongly condemned the deadly blasts at the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Dahab and expressed condolences to the victims and their families.

"I strongly condemn this act of terrorism, for which there is no justification, and can not be any. I confirm Russia's unwavering solidarity with Egypt in resistance to terrorism and our determination to coordinate efforts and jointly rebuff this direct threat to the international community." Putin said in a message to Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak.

"With a feeling of deep grief, I heard the news of the barbaric explosions in the Egyptian town of Dahab on April 24 that killed and injured many people of different nationalities."

"I am expressing profound condolences to the relatives and dearones of those killed and sympathy to the surviving victims," the message reads.

According to the latest reports, the blasts in Dahab late on Monday killed at least 23 people, including one Russian citizen, and wounded some 87 others.

It was the second of such attacks since last July when a series of bombings hit the Sinai's most popular Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, killing at least 60 people. Enditem
