BELGRADE, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Two Belgrade basketball teams overcame their respective rivals in the Bosnia-Herzegovina capital of Sarajevo on Saturday, qualifying for the final of the Adriatic League Final Eight Tournament.

Partizan is the first team that qualified for the final defeating the champion from 2005 Hemofarm 88-66. The winner was decided in the second half after Hemofarm was ahead for the first 20 minutes but lacked aggressiveness against the team from Belgrade.

The two teams met in the last year's final but this time Partizan will have a new opportunity to win the trophy that it still hasn't won so far.

In another semifinal, FMP as the champion from 2004 surprised the favorite of the game Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) 103-78. Crvena Zvezda led the first quarter with 28-21, but was devastated in the following quarters.

The regional basketball league, which was founded in 2001, includes 14 best teams from four former Yugoslav countries such as Serbia-Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovenia.

After the regular season consisting of a double round-robin schedule, the top eight teams in the league then advance to a playoff round to crown the league champion. This year's tournament is being held in Sarajevo from April 20 to April 23. The winning team of the league final will get champion's rings following the example of NBA. Enditem
