BOAO, Hainan, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong on Saturday vowed to enhance cooperation with Indonesia in such fields as energy.

Zeng made the remarks while meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Yusuf Kalla, who is here for the ongoing Boao Forum for Asia annual meeting 2006.

Zeng hailed the China-Indonesia relations, saying the two countries understood and supported each other on major issues concerning national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The two sides also carried out fruitful cooperation in such fields as economy and trade as well as contact and coordination on some key international and regional issues.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). China will host series of celebration activities and strive to further relations with ASEAN. China attaches importance to the relations with Indonesia and will exert joint efforts with Indonesia to institute an action plan to implement the strategic partnership between the two countries and promote cooperation in such fields as energy, he noted.

Yusuf Kalla spoke highly of the bilateral relations and China's economic growth, saying China's development will promote Asia's economic progress. He said that the two countries is striving to expand bilateral trade and enhance cooperation in infrastructure construction. "We hope such cooperation will exert positive impact on the development of Indonesia-China relations," he said.
