    BOAO, Hainan, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Meeting 2006 held in this small scenic town of southern China's Hainan Province.

    Zeng urges Asian countries to seize opportunities for better future

    China pursues closer relations with Asian partners

    China, as the world's largest developing country, is seeking closer mutual support and partnership with other Asian countries in the course of promoting peace and common development of the region, Zeng said. Full story

 

    China to work for common development in Asia and the world

    Zeng said China will work for mutual benefit and common development in Asia and the world.

    Zeng recalled the development of China in the past five years, saying that China has steadily advanced its reform and opening-up program. It overcame the difficulties caused by the Asian financial crisis and prevailed over SARS and other natural disasters. Full story

 

    China provides 10m jobs for the world since 2001

    China has created some 10 million job opportunities for the world over the past five years, Zeng said.

     China also imported nearly 500 billion U.S. dollars worth of goods annually from the world since its entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001, Zeng said. Full story
