www.chinaview.cn 2006-04-21 09:20:53

BUDAPEST, April 20 (Xinhua) -- An unexploded 400-kg WWII bomb and several small grenades were found at construction sites of a motorway near Kaposztasmegyer, north of the Hungarian capital Budapest, on Thursday.

Police cordoned off the area surrounding the site and closed down several roads leading to the site before defusing the bomb on the spot.

The smaller grenades were transported to a bomb disposal center to be defused.

Police said some 100 residents and factory employees had been temporarily evacuated from the area.

Four unexploded WWII bombs have been found at construction sites in Budapest since the beginning of this year. Enditem
