JAKARTA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government will deport a
Singaporean national arrested recently for alleged links with terror fugitive
Noordin Moh Top, the national police chief said Thursday.
Abdul Rosyid alias Hamdan, who was arrested in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara province
on Tuesday, will be deported at the request of the Singapore government.
"(The deportation) is a country request. We will no longer put him in legal
proceedings, because what matters to us is that his identity matches with that
supplied by the country in question (Singapore)," Police Chief Sutanto told
reporters here.
Police suspected him of knowing the whereabouts of Noordin, whois the
country's most wanted terrorist for leading roles in a series of deadly
bombings.
But police have made no further explanations about Rosyid's arrest. Enditem |
