BERLIN, April 19 (Xinhua) -- German football federation (DFB) co-president Theo Zwanziger hailed Wednesday the announcement of the ruling body FIFA to unveil its anti-racism rules for the World Cup.

"We support this. We can not simply condemn racism. For that reason we support the tough action by FIFA," Zwanziger told German news agency DPA.

But he also reminded FIFA that possible sanctions must be carefully decided on, looking at each case individually.

FIFA introduced the new rules ranging from fines to point deductions, relegation or expulsion from tournaments, from April 4 onwards.

FIFA boss Joseph Blatter said Tuesday that the rules should be applied at the World Cup. Enditem
