GAZA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Israeli artillery shelled norther Gaza Strip Wednesday afternoon following Palestinian militants homemade rockets firing on southern Israel, security sources said.
The shelling targeted open areas on the outskirts of Beit Lahia, a small town in the northern Gaza Strip, said the sources. No injuries were reported.
Israel has been shelling northern Gaza in a bid to stop homemade rockets attacks launched by militants in the area. On Wednesday, two homemade rockets were fired from northern Gaza by Palestinian militants into Israel, according to Palestinian sources. Enditem |
