JAKARTA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's resort island of Bali will host the Asian two-player beach volleyball tournament on May 4-7, organizers said Wednesday.

Surfers' favorite Kuta beach was chosen as the venue for the event, said Tjahyadi Gunawan, chairman of the host committee.

The selection of Bali was at the request of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), he said.

The upcoming tournament will offer total prize of 20,000 US dollars. The prize was 15,000 dollars last year.

Foreign teams from Australia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Vietnam have confirmed their participation, he said. Enditem
