BELGRADE, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Slovenian President Janez Drnovsek will leave for China on Wednesday to attend the fifth annual Boao Forum for Asia 2006, the president's office said in Ljubljana on Tuesday.

Drnovsek is to address the Boao Forum conference in the seaside resort Boao in south China's Hainan province, dubbed "New Opportunities for Asia: Directing Development into the Next Phase", the office said in a statement.

The conference will be attended by more than 1,000 high officials, company executives and experts from Asia and the rest of the world.

Founded by 26 Asian countries in 2001, Boao Forum for Asia has become an annual platform for communication and cooperation between Asian countries and regions with the theme of the 2006 conference being slated as "Asia Searching for Win-Win: New Opportunities for Asia". Enditem
