BAGHDAD, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Four civilians were killed and 22 others including four policemen were wounded when a roadside bomb blast hit a police patrol in a eastern Baghdad district on Tuesday,an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.
"Our latest reports put the casualties at four killed and 22 wounded, including four policemen," the source said.The blast also damaged a police vehicle and several nearby civilian cars, he said.
Earlier, the source said two civilians were killed and 10 others wounded, including two policemen when a makeshift bomb detonated near a police patrol at about 10:00 a.m. (0600 GMT) in the Qahira Intersection on the entrance of Baghdad's northern neighborhood of Suleikh.
The wounded were evacuated to the Kendi Hospital in central Baghdad, he said.
Insurgents targeting U.S. and Iraqi security forces in busy intersections, highways and markets in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities, often cause casualties among civilians. Enditem |
