Sepcial Report: Tension accelerates in Iraq

BAGHDAD, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi police patrols found body of the brother of top Sunni politician Salih al-Mutlak in Baghdad's Shiite neighborhood on Monday after three weeks of abduction, an Interior Ministry source said.

"Our patrols found this morning the body of Dr. Taha al-Mutlak, brother of Salih al-Mutlak in Shulla neighborhood in northern Baghdad," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The body, with bullet holes in the head, was evacuated to Baghdad morgue, the source said.

Mutlak was kidnapped nearly three weeks ago by unknown gunmen, the source said.

Last week, the brother of leading Sunni politician Tareq al-Hashemi was gunned down.

Separately, the ministry said that 10 bodies were found in Baghdad in the day, seven of whom were piled into a jeep vehicle in Baghdad's southern district of Dora. Enditem
