"Our patrols found this morning the body of Dr. Taha al-Mutlak, brother of Salih al-Mutlak in Shulla neighborhood in northern Baghdad," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The body, with bullet holes in the head, was evacuated to Baghdad morgue, the source said.
Mutlak was kidnapped nearly three weeks ago by unknown gunmen, the source said.
Last week, the brother of leading Sunni politician Tareq al-Hashemi was gunned down.
