WASHINGTON, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The Washignton Wizards, backed by 35 points from Gilbert Arenas and 21 from Caron Butler, who returned from a thumb injury, scored a 104-92 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers led by LeBron James.

The victory ended a Wizards five-game losing streak and made the team consecutive postseason berths for the first time since 1988, something they were in position to do a week ago.

Antawn Jamison added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Washington, and Butler, who was out for five games with a right thumb injury, also added eight rebounds.

"It's what we should have done a long time ago," Jamison said after game. "It's what we expected."

James returned to Cleveland's lineup after missing a game for the first time this season due to a sprained left ankle. He contributed 17 points in 29 minutes.

The Cavaliers have locked into the fourth place in the Eastern Conference before the game.

"Not taking anything away from Washington, that's a very good basketball team down there, but it looked like our guys thought they were coming out after the first three minutes," said coach Mike Brown of the Cavalers.

The Wazards (40-40) are No. 5 now in the East, where all eight playoff teams are set, although seeding for Nos. 5-8 isn't.

If Washington clinch the fifth place they will meet Cleveland in the first round of playoff. The Wizards won their season series 3-1. Enditem
