Henin-Hardenne defeated Dinara Saina on Friday in the quarterfinals and kept her
title defence on track at the WTA clay court tournament in Charleston, South
Carolina.
The top-seeded Belgian beat the seventh seed Russian
6-4, 6-1 to record 14-0 in Charleston.
The reigning French Open champion will face either
third-seeded Swiss Patty Schnyder or eighth-seeded Nathalie Dechy of France in
the semifinals .
In the other semifinals, second seed Russian Nadia
Petrova will meet doubles partner Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany.
Petrova routed Colombian Catalina Castano 6-2, 6-0,
while Groenefeld, the sixth seed, prevented an all-Russian semifinals as she
