BEIJING, April 14 -- 36-year-old Frenchman Christian Cevaer carded six under 66 to lead in the first round of golf Volvo China Open while Chinese Liang Wenchong dropped out.     

    The 36-year-old 2004 Spain Open champion caught six birdies during Thursday's round.

    He was particularly brilliant at Hole Three where he hit the pole while saving a bunker.

    China's Liang Wenchong failed to advance with seven-over 79.
