TV host Zhou Tao fights blog stories
www.chinaview.cn 2006-04-14 07:49:02

BEIJING, April 14 -- A month after the story of her two marriages were disclosed by a self-styled "intimate friend in college" in a Web blog, former CCTV host Zhou Tao announced on Sina.com Wednesday that she was greatly disturbed by the untrue blog story and a follow-up fabricated news story. She also stressed her right to take legal action against the false stories.

In an interview with Sina.com, Zhou said: "I have been a TV host for 10 years. I hope audiences can focus more on my career than my personal life. The stories have caused big trouble in my life. I can forgive the person who hurt me but I don't want to be hurt again."

Following the blog stories of Zhou's marriages, another report titled "Remarrying Is My Best Choice" came out on Internet and was carried by some Chinese tabloids. Zhou said the story was total fiction.

She said the untruths in the buzzing blog story greatly hurt both her family and herself.

"As a low-key celebrity, I kept my lips tight on the story. I appreciate the netizens and audiences who care about me so much but I reserve the right to use legal means to protect my personal well-being."
