TOKYO, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Water containing plutonium and other radioactive materials has been leaked at a nuclear fuel reprocessing plant in northern Japan, Kyodo news reported on Wednesday, quoting its operator.

Japan Nuclear Fuel Ltd. said there was no impact seen outside the plant, which was located in Rokkasho, Aomori prefecture. The reprocessing plant started its trial run on March 31.

The Rokkasho plant is designed to turn spent nuclear fuel into plutonium for making nuclear power plant fuel. Enditem
