GAZA, April 10 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli tank shell hit a neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia on Monday, killing a six-year-old Palestinian girl and wounding ten others, medics said.
Eyewitnesses said dozens of tank shells were fired at the outskirts of the town, adding that one of the shells landed near a house where a group of children were playing.
Palestinian medics at Kamal Odwan hospital reported that Hadeel Ghaben was killed and ten others were injured, among them three children.
A total of 15 Palestinians were killed over the weekend as Israel intensified air strikes and bombardment in the Gaza Strip in a bid to stop militants firing homemade rockets at southern Israel. Enditem |
