NEW DELHI, April 10 (Xinhua) -- At least 25 people were killed and some 100 still trapped after a fire broke out Monday at a trade fair in north India, according to New Delhi TV.
The TV formerly reported that more than 50 were killed in the fire.
The fire occurred at 5:30 pm Monday at a consumer electronics show in Meerut in Upper Pradesh state of India, and has gutted three pandals.
TV footage shows the fire is still rampaging and people are running, screaming and crying at the site, and rescue teams are rushing to the spot from all directions.
The TV predicted that death toll could rise due to the big flame. Enditem |
