France's new CPE law could be drawn up as early as Monday

    PARIS, April 7 (Xinhua) -- French right-wing lawmakers said Friday that a new First Employment Contract (CPE) law could be drawn up as early as Monday following talks with unions and students group, as well as employers' organizations. 

French unions set deadline for CPE withdrawal

    PARIS, April 5 (Xinhua) -- French union and student leaders on Wednesday gave a deadline to the French government to revoke the First Employment Contract (CPE) law, threatening with another the million-strong protests.

300 French protesters arrested in clashes with police

    PARIS, April 4 (Xinhua) -- More than 300 protesters were arrested across France during clashes with riot police, after at least 1 million people took to the streets in protest against government's unpopular new jobs plan for young people, police said on Tuesday.
