BANGKOK, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Tens
of thousands of Thais rallied at Bangkok's Sanam Luang (Royal Square)
again on Friday to call for the reform of Thai politics and
Constitution.

BANGKOK, April 7 (Xinhua) --
Former Democrat MP Thaworn Senniamhas asked the Central Administrative
Court to prohibit the planned by-elections in 38 constituencies on April
23, alleging the Election Commission decisions violated electoral
laws.

Thailand's new round of general
election begins Sunday morning, a poll called by the caretaker prime
minister Thaksin Shinawatra three years ahead of schedule in a bid to
renew his mandate and defuse the protests. It is the third election after
its new constitution was adopted in 1997.
