Strong earthquake near Fiji

    WELLINGTON, April 7 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.3 on Richter scale occurred at 8:30 pm local time (0830 GMT) about 225 kilometers (140 miles) northwest of Fijian capital Suva.

    There is no immediate report of damage.

    No tsunami warning was issued.

    Earthquakes have been frequent in this area. Enditem
