BEIJING, April 5 -- Two goals to Filippo Inzaghi inspired AC Milan to a 3-1 win against Lyon at the San Siro this morning as the Italians sealed their place in the Champions League semi-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti's former European champions had played out a goalless draw against Lyon in France last week but got their second leg off to a great start when Inzaghi struck in the 25th minute.

However Lyon, coached by former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier, equalised quickly through Mahamadou Diarra barely six minutes later.

At the end of a pulsating second half Inzaghi scrambled home his second goal after the ball had hit both posts following a save by Gregory Coupet.

Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko scored Milan's third goal in second half injury time.

But AC's city rivals Inter saw their Champions League campaign come to a halt after going down 1-0 away to Spain's Villareal in their quarter-final second leg.

Rodolfo Arruabarrena nodded a second half winner to secure qualification for the hosts, who scored a precious away goal in the first leg which finished 2-1 for Inter in Italy last week.
