open area near Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' office in the northern Gaza
Strip on Tuesday, Palestinian security sources said.
The sources said that at least two missiles landed at
a Palestinian security installation called Anssar which belongs to the
Palestinian national security forces west of Gaza City.
Two explosions were heard in the open place, which is not far from the headquarters of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Gaza.
Medics at Shiffa Hospital in Gaza City reported that
a local TV cameraman who works for Reuters TV was lightly wounded and was
receiving proper treatment in the hospital.
The airstrike on an open area in Beit Hanoun town in
northern Gaza came in retaliation for a series of homemade rocket attacks
launched by different Palestinian militant groups, mainly the Islamic Jihad
(Holy War), the al-Aqsa Brigades and the Popular Resistance Committees, said the
sources.
The three militant groups said in three separate
leaflets that their militants fired about nine homemade rockets at southern
Israel, which landed near Israeli coastal town of Ashkelon.
Israeli army confirmed Tuesday's bombing, saying the strike targeted areas where militants fired homemade rockets at Israel. Enditem
