WASHINGTON, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Cleveland Cavaliers' forward LeBron James
and forward Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets were selected as the NBA's top
players for March.
James won the Eastern Conference award, leading his club to a 10-4 record
while averaging 32.9 points per game, the highest scoring month in his career
and also a franchise record for Cleveland.
James also powered the Cavs to their first playoff berth since the 1997-98
campaign. He also set a career-high with 24 free-throws made on March 12 against
Miami. That was also an NBA season-high. In that contest, James posted 47 points
with seven rebounds.
On March 22 against Charlotte, LeBron recorded a career-high fifth
triple-double with 37 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in 120-118 overtime
win.
Anthony averaged 29.9 points on a .549 shooting percentage in 16 games
while guiding his team to an 11-5 record. He scored 30 ormore points in 10 of
the 16 games.
Anthony guided the Nuggets to their best seven-game road trip in franchise
history as Denver went 5-2 during the stretch. Enditem
