GAZA, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Minister of InteriorSaeed Seyam said on Sunday that militants of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) will not join Palestinian National Authority (PNA) security apparatuses.

Seyam, who just took office on Thursday, said, "I personally prefer to make changes in the leadership of different security apparatuses, and it should include different colors (political affiliations)."

"All security forces are under the minister of interior unless there is a presidential decree, which isolates interior affairs and police from national security forces," said Seyam.

He said that he held a meeting earlier in the day with AllaHussein, the Palestinian police chief, adding that "we agreed towork together to end the ongoing chaos."

As for whether late chief commander of the Popular Resistance Committees Abu Yousef al-Guga was nominated by the new cabinet the commander of one of security apparatuses before his death, the minister did not give an exact answer.

Al-Guga was killed in a mysterious car explosion as he was driving for Friday's prayer in Gaza.

Spokesman of the Popular Resistance Committees accused Fatah security chiefs of being behind the killing, a charge dismissed by the Fatah movement.

Seyam said that a fact-finding committee was given a full competence to question anyone in the case. Enditem
