Abstention reigns in TRT's Bangkok voting results
   BANGKOK, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The earlier return of Sunday's parliamentary election has showed that abstentions surpassed votes for Thai Rak Thai party led by Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra in most areas of the capital while the party remains popular in the north and northeast region.

29 one-horse Thai Rak Thai candidates in south appear to fail
   BANGKOK, April 3 (Xinhua) -- It appears that up to 29 candidates of Thai Rak Thai Party from 41 constituencies with one-horse candidates in southern provinces failed to gather the required 20-percent of votes from eligible voters in each constituency.

"No vote" stuns Thai PM
   BANGKOK, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's caretaker PM Thaksin Shinawatra abruptly canceled a planned evening press conference on Sunday and will hold an emergent meeting on Monday noon, apparently rattled by a staggeringly high number of "abstain" votes in an election he portrayed as a virtual national referendum on his beleaguered leadership.
