JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese
players Yu Yang/Du Jing took the gold in the women's doubles final at the Asian
Badminton Championships 2006 here Sunday.
The Chinese duo beat third seed Chien Yu Chin/Cheng
Wen Hsing of Chinese Taipe 21-11, 21-16.
Yu said after the match: "We prepared this match very
well and we had very good team work during the match."
Earlier, Chinese Hong Kong's Wang Chen claimed the
women's singles title after beating Japan's Mori kaori 21-14, 9-21, 21-13.
Malaysia won the men's single and men's double title.
In the men's singles, top seed Lee Chong Wei defeated
Thailand's Ponsana Bonnsak, seeded sixth, 21-12, 21-16.
The men's final was won by seventh seeds Choong Tan
Fook/Lee Wan Wah, who beat Hoon Thien How/Tan Boon Heong 17-21, 21-11, 21-12.
Top seed Widianto Nova/Natsir Liliyana of Indonesia
won the mixed double title after beating Thailand's 21-16, 21-23, 21-15. Enditem
