BERLIN, April 1 (Xinhua) -- U.S. female journalist Jill Carrollwho was
released by her Iraqi captors two days ago arrived Saturday at the U.S. Ramstein
Air Base in western Germany.
Carroll, 28, emerged from the door of a military plane, wearing jeans and a
desert camouflage coat with a smile on her face, footage broadcast by CNN
showed.
"I'm happy to be here," she said.
It is unclear yet whether she would undergo a medical check at the base or
when she would leave for the United States.
Carroll, who is a freelance for the Boston-based Christian Science Monitor,
was kidnapped in western Baghdad on Jan. 7.
Her captors, calling themselves the Revenge Brigades, had threatened to
kill Carroll unless all women detainees in the U.S. and Iraqi prisons were
