21 feared dead as boat capsizes in Tanzania

    DAR ES SALAAM, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-one people, mostly women, were feared dead as the boat they were traveling in capsized in Lake Victoria in northwestern Tanzania.

    Of the 30 people on board of the fateful ferry boat "Simba wa Yuda", nine were said to have swum to shore, according to Saturday' s edition of local newspaper The Citizen.

    The tragedy occurred on Thursday.

    The newspaper quoted local authorities as saying that so far nine bodies had been retrieved. Enditem
