BEIJING, March 30 -- Chinese Zheng Jie has failed to extend her winning streak at the 3.45 million-dollar Nasdaq 100 Open in Miami, Florida in the United States.

The Australian Open doubles champion has been beaten by 22-seeded Tatiana Golovin of France in three sets: 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Zheng started the game strong, winning the first set 6-3. Her rival proved too strong, however, fighting back to win the next two sets and stopping Zheng from reaching the semi-finals.

Even though she didn't prevail in the end, Zhang's quarter-final appearance is by far her best personal record.

In the women's doubles, Athens Olympic champions Li Ting and Sun Tiantian also fell at the quarter-finals to the combination of veterans Huber and Navratinova 7-6, 6-4.
