14 bodies found in western Baghdad

    BAGHDAD, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi police patrols found 14 dead bodies in execution-style in western Baghdad district on Tuesday, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

    "Our patrols found 14 bodies under the highway bridge in the Adel district," the source said on condition of anonymity.

    The bodies were blindfolded, bound and shot in the head, he said.

    A wave of sectarian reprisal attacks between the main Iraqi Shiite and Sunni communities swept the country in the wake of a bombing attack that destroyed a major Shiite shrine in northern Iraq on Feb. 22. Enditem
