Three killed in hydropower station accident in Qinghai

    XINING, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and two others injured in an accident on Monday at a key hydropower station in Northwest China's Qinghai Province.

    The wall of an underground plant of the Laxiwa hydropower station located in Guide County collapsed at about 9 a.m. Monday, killing three workers on the spot and injuring two others, according to Zhang Dexiang, project manager with the Gezhouba Group Corporation that is in charge of the construction.

    Six people were killed in an accident in the same station on May 26, 2005.

    Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. Enditem
