KIEV, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, whose bloc made a strong showing in Ukraine's parliamentary election, said on Sunday an agreement was all but complete to form a governing coalition of liberals.
Tymoshenko implied that she would be back as prime minister as head of the largest group making up a coalition of parties, local media reported.
Tymoshenko said an agreement bringing together three liberal parties, including her own bloc, the Our Ukraine party of President Viktor Yushchenko and the Socialists, was "practically ready".
"I believe that this coalition agreement will be signed," she said.
Tymoshenko, 45, was appointed prime minister after Yushchenko won a presidential election.
She was sacked by Yushchenko eight months later after protracted infighting in a government split into two camps, each accusing the other of corruption.
Tymoshenko ran on a separate ticket in Sunday's poll. Enditem |
