Boat sinks off Cameroon's coast, over 100 feared dead

    NAIROBI, March 23 (Xinhua) -- About 130 people were feared dead Thursday after a boat sank off Cameroonian coast, according to reports from the west African country.

    The reports said about 150 people were aboard the wooden boat when it overturned at around 4:00 am (0300 GMT) Wednesday near the fishing town Kribi.

    23 survivors were rescued. The survivors were from Nigeria, Mali, Benin and Burkina Faso. They said the boat left the Nigeriantown of Orong, heading south towards Gabon's economic capital, Port Gentil.

    It is the second boat capsize off Cameroon in less than a year.Over 40 people were drowned when a boat traveling from Nigeria to Gabon sank off southern coast of the country last June. Enditem
