Center for the Year of Russia in China opened in Beijing on Monday morning,
which will provide information about the cultural exchange activities to media
of all countries.
The center has been established by the Russian News and Information Agency under the decision of the organizing committee of the Year of Russia activities. The Russian Embassy in China will also help provide relevant information.
The center will hold such activities as press conferences, seminars, various exhibitions and video conferences between Beijing and some Russian cities. Statesmen, leaders of government departments, scientists, writers and artists from Russia will participate in these activities.
The center will also invite Russian senior correspondents to share their opinions on international affairs and China-Russia relations with some experts in these fields.

President of the the Russian News and Information
Agency S. Mironyuk said the establishment of the information center will
strengthen the information exchanges between the two countries and show the
latest development of Russia. The Russian side may invitesome Chinese
correspondents to visit Russia, including big cities and some remote areas.
Russian Ambassador to China Sergei Razov said the
main aim of setting up the center is to provide a convenient and rapid
information platform to the media and common people, who are interested in
Russia's development. He hopes the media of both countries can further enhance
cooperation in various forms, so as to help the Chinese people better understand
Russia's development,and to help the Russian people have a more comprehensive
